Is your zero
holding?

Zero check pools where your groups landed against your aim point, week after week, and tells you whether the zero is holding or drifting.

One answer from many groups

One group can mislead: a bad shot, a gust, a rushed trigger. Zero check takes every eligible group shot since your last zero reset and averages how far each landed from its aim point, in windage and elevation.

The card reads HOLDING when that pooled average is within half a MOA (about 0.15 MRAD) in both directions, and DRIFTING when it is not. Under it, a plot shows every group as a dot around your aim point, with the pooled average dashed in brass, and a table lists each group's offset.

Offsets read as the correction you would dial. Groups landing right and high show as left and down.

When it drifts

The same rifle five weeks later. Each group sits a little further from the last, and the pooled average has moved with them. No single group looked alarming, but together they show a zero that is walking.

Typical causes are a loosening mount, a changing seasonal temperature, or a barrel that is wearing in. Pair it with Trend to see whether the drift follows temperature or rounds fired.

Zero belongs to one barrel and one load

Pooling across a barrel change, or across two different charge weights, averages away the very drift you are looking for. It can even report HOLDING for a rifle that is not. So the tab filters by Barrel and Load, and opens on your active pair so you never see a pooled-across-everything answer by accident.

Load-development ladders never enter the pool, since they are not how a real load is shot. Groups remember the barrel they were shot on at the moment you marked them, which is what makes the filter possible after a swap.

Dialled a correction? Say so

When you move the scope to bring impacts back to the aim point, enter it under Dialled offset in the group's details. Zero check subtracts what you dialled, so a group shot after a correction is not read as a new drift. The card notes how many groups have an offset applied.

Anything you do not want counted can be switched off per group with Include in zero check, such as a test shot with a different point of aim.

Starting fresh after a re-zero

When you re-zero on purpose, tap Mark zero reset now. Groups saved before that moment are left out, and the card says how many were excluded. Your reset history stays listed, with dates.

Good to know

  • A group counts when it is a single group with an aim point and a distance set.
  • Composite groups are not part of Zero check.
  • Results show in your default angular unit, MRAD or MOA.
  • Zero check is a Pro feature, free on your first 3 days of use. Groups saved while locked out are left out of the pool.
