Terms of use
By using Downrange you agree to the following. It is short because the app does very little on your behalf.
Downrange is a measurement and record-keeping tool. It calculates statistics from shot positions that you mark. It is not a ballistic solver and does not tell you where to aim.
Every figure the app reports depends on the scale you set and the shot positions you mark. Measurement error, an angled photo, or a mis-set scale will produce confident-looking numbers that are wrong. Treat the output as an aid to your own judgement, not as a substitute for it.
The app is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. The developer is not liable for any loss or damage arising from its use, including decisions made on the basis of its output.
Your data is stored on your device. If you turn on Sync, a copy is also kept in your own account so it can follow you to other devices; Settings → Sync → Delete cloud account removes that copy. Without Sync you are responsible for your own backups — use Settings → Export session. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data, deletes the copy on the device permanently.
Sync is optional and needs a Google account or an email address. It is provided as-is: it may be unavailable at times, and the copy on your device stays the one the app works from. You can pause it, sign out or delete the cloud copy at any time.

Subscription terms
Trend charts including velocity and box plots, the zero check, group comparison, composite groups, the Window tab's flat-run finder and load performance chart, per-shot velocity analysis, more than 3 rifles and multiple barrels per rifle, more than 5 loads, and CSV and PNG exports. Marking targets, saving groups and reading group statistics are free, permanently. Exporting your own data as a session backup is free too.
New users get the analysis features (Trend, zero check, compare, Window, composite groups, and CSV and PNG exports) free for their first 3 days of use. A day counts once you save or correct a group, open Analysis, make a composite, or save a Compare or Window session. Nothing you have already made is locked away: every group, composite and saved session stays viewable with or without Pro.
After the free days, you can still view everything you have made, but you can't make new composites or saved sessions, or edit old composites, without Pro.

Safety notice
Downrange is a record-keeping tool used after shooting. Nothing in it substitutes for safe firearm handling, competent range practice, or the law where you are.
The app records charge weights and seating depths you enter, as a log of what you did. It contains no load data, checks nothing against any published source, and will happily record a figure that is dangerous.
Always work up loads from current data published by the powder or bullet manufacturer. Never use a charge weight from this app, from anyone else's export file, or from an imported session, as a substitute for that. Pressure signs are your responsibility to recognise.
Where the app comments on your loads — a flat window across a charge ladder, or how much of a group's vertical your muzzle velocity explains — it is describing the numbers you gave it, nothing more. It does not know your rifle, your components, or what pressure you are running at. A flat window is not a safe charge, and "tighten the charge spread" is not an instruction to load hotter.
Every charge weight decision still comes from current published load data, worked up from the starting load.
An exported session may contain load data. If you share one, the person receiving it must treat every charge weight in it as unverified and work up from published data themselves.
Handling a phone and a firearm at the same time is a bad combination. Photograph targets with the firearm unloaded and grounded, or when the line is clear.
